Away Mode
Most security alarm systems are pretty straight forward. You must close all monitored doors and windows. There can be no activity in the motion sensor monitored areas. The READY light must be on.

When a user is arming a system for “Away Mode“, you must first enter your code, and then choose “AWAY.” (Some systems allow the arming without 1st entering a code). This will start the “Away Mode” exit time countdown. Once the countdown begins, everyone in the protected area must leave quickly through an entry/exit door. When the countdown ends, all interior and exterior zones will be armed. Once all zones have been armed, any sensor that sees motion or a change in door status will initiate an alarm.
When you want to disarm a system, enter the protected area using an “Entry/Exit” door. This will provide the time needed to dis-arm the system before the alarm goes off. The time is typically 30 seconds.
Entering the protected area using a perimeter door will cause an immediate alarm.
