Duress Code:
A special alarm code that when entered, discreetly alerts authorities that the user is in a dangerous situation.
Dual Verification:
Some customers or jurisdictions require another system or person to certify an alarm has actually occurred before dispatching the police. Dual verification is in response to all the false alarms. It is usually accomplished using audio or video verification.
False Alarm:
An erroneous alarm activation that is not caused by an actual emergency or threat.
Fire Alarm:
An alarm system designed to detect smoke, heat, or flames, signaling the presence of a fire.
