Alarm Response:
The action taken by authorities or a monitoring service in response to an alarm event. The alarm response for each zone must be determined before the system is put into operation.
Arming:
The process of activating an alarm system to monitor for intrusions or other events.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
A device that detects the presence of carbon monoxide gas, which is dangerous to human health, and triggers an alert.
Disarming:
The process of deactivating an alarm system to allow authorized entry without triggering an alert.
Door Contact Sensor:
A sensor that triggers an alarm when a door or window is opened or tampered with. Also known as a Door Position Switch (DPS).
