Designated Entry/Exit Door
Avoid false alarms!
Now that the system is armed, all users must enter the building using an entry/exit door. This door allows for a delay period, which is needed to enter the code and turn the system off. This zone is often designated as “Zone Type 1.”
Entering a building through any other door will cause an immediate alarm. These doors (or zones) are designated as “Perimeter” doors. Entering through perimeter doors will generate a call from the monitoring station, a visit from the police, or both!
Perimeter doors are often assigned to “Zone Type 3.”
