The Meter – 22

The meter will show 000. This indicates a direct short between the Red and Black probes.

On most meters, there’s setting for an audible tone when the Red and Black “Probes” or “Leads” touch.

The audible location is just to the right of the existing setting.

An open circuit or loop reads (1) and a closed or shorted circuit measurement reads (000).

The Ohms setting doesn’t just show open and closed. Ohms are the measurement of Resistance in a loop or circuit.
