To give you perspective, an electric strike or magnetic lock may have a Current Draw of 250mA. That’s ¼ of an amp @12vdc.

Electrified panic devices may have an initial current draw of 4 or 5 amps.

A motion sensor may only need 100mA (1/10 of an Amp) to operate.

This electric strike requires almost 1/2 of an Amp to operate it. The Current Draw is .45 amps or 450mA.
